The energy strategy comprised the use of significant Air Source Heat Pump plant and communal. Roof plant had to be carefully planned for integration into the roof designs and the heat network was required to serve the Sainsbury’s store, which had a high temperature requirement. This led to a hybrid heat generation strategy with gas boilers providing the peak load and high temperature needs with the heat pumps serving as the lead heat source.
