Naden House (now Everdene House) was a former meat-processing factory converted to offices in the 1980's. In a poor state of repair, the building was fully stripped back to its portal frame and rebuilt, creating new and vibrant offices for Magna Housing Association.

Procured under a traditional contract we produced the full mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) design from conception to completion. The scheme encompassed a range of passive design measures including:

  • A specific client requirement for having domestic heating boilers installed due to a lack of local commercial service engineers - this was achieved using Vaillant boilers and their commercial control system
  • Mixed-mode ventilation via natural supply with mechanical extraction, controlled with a building management (BMS) system to provide ventilation in the winter plus a temperature control system in the summer
  • Solar control glass to reduce summer heat gain while maintaining high levels of natural daylight
  • Low energy lighting designed by our specialist in-house team.
